We are so fortunate to have Dave Ellis, Wildlife Photographer address Probus

this month.

Dave is a native of Nova Scotia. Having travelled and lived in

several places across Canada he ultimately settled in

Omemee in 2001.

His entrepreneurial spirit was honed in Toronto

where he owned and operated a vending handcraft

business. That experience taught him invaluable

lessons in work ethics, tenacity and strength. From

Toronto his move to Omemee with his wife Astrid

opened a whole new career and passion for which

he has gained respected recognition.

The natural beauty of this region has introduced

Dave to lakes, rivers and endless trails to expand his

love of wildlife, their habits and habitats. Through

his skilled operation of camera and lens he captures

the strengths, personalities and challenges of birds

and wildlife in their own backyard.

Since 2018 Dave has written wildlife columns for

previous publications “Kawartha” and

“Peterborough This Week” newspapers. Today he

writes regular columns for the “Peterborough Examiner"
