As a member of Probus Peterborough and a retired

broadcaster Wally Macht’s background will be of

great interest. His is a unique one, as few of us have

had careers in broadcasting. Wally has lived through

and reported on so many pivotal moments in

Canadian history.

No doubt our speaker’s name is familiar to many of

you. Not only has Wally been ‘in our homes’ for years

as a news anchor in Toronto for CTV but also as one

of the hosts on the Canada AM morning talk show.

He ultimately moved to Peterborough with CHEX

television as vice president of Information, news

director and anchor of our local station. In addition,

throughout those years he produced numerous

documentaries for television. A career that spanned

over 40 years.
