SEPTEMBER SPEAKER – Dr. Jenny Ingram:

 Dr. Jenny Ingram is a Geriatric Medicine Specialist.  She has been a trailblazer in Senior care throughout her career. She founded the Kawartha Centre, a research site to bring international Alzheimer research trials to the region, a rarity for a smaller city.

Dr. Ingram’s research over the last decade through Trent University and McGill University has focused on how to assist Primary Care Physicians to adapt to the boom of Seniors.

The impact of her advocacy work to establish GAIN Geriatric teams has proven her greatest achievement.  These twelve fully funded teams of professionals headed by Nurse Practitioners and supported by Geriatric Medicine Specialists such as herself has proven to be a compelling invitation to younger dementia care specialists to come to the Central East region.

We are so fortunate that Dr. Ingram will address our membership at our September AGM on September 2nd at 10 am at the Curling Club.

 Her most recent endeavour “No More Silent Battles” is her first filmmaking experience.  It gives voice to those who are currently silenced.  She will give us a brief overview of this documentary and information of where it will be shown for those interested in attending.

Too many of us have been touched by this disease through family or friends.  It is of such topical interest to all.  You will not want to miss learning about the documentary.
